Have decided that now that DD is 3 it's time to bite the bullet and potty train. She starts nursery after Easter and it would be very helpful if she was out of nappies. BUT I am a complete potty training wimp (she is my 4th DC so i should now what to do by now ) Please some encouragement on how to make tomorrow not feel like doomsday ! Also we have a pretty hectic life due to the other DC's and can't just sit in the house all week (chance would be a fine thing) And finally apart from the obvious are there any differences between potty training a DD as opposed to a DS (have only done DS's before)
Thanks

DD's easier!! If she is a pretty motivated little girl you should get there pretty quickly. All kids are different but day one with my DS was about 25 wees (possible exaggeration!), caught a few in the potty. With DD, 3 all day, all misses, day 2, two hits one miss, by day three she pretty much had it sussed!
Good luck!!

It's not started well but maybe potty training in the throes of evil PMT was a bad idea am determined to persevere as have been changing nappies since 1997 !!! It's time to move on.

Lots of rewards for everyone (including mummies!!) and treats for the older children for being patient. Everyone feels better after chocolate!!

Good Luck - you will get there and no more nappies!! 13 years is alot of nappies!!

Things going surprisingly well she has had 1 Accident today !!! and left to her own devices went and pooed on the potty! She is being very independent about the whole process so definatly different to the boys!!

Go girl!! and well done you too for allowing her the independence she needs to just get on with it!! It was weeks before my DS pooed on the potty!! He still has more control over his bowels than is healthy!!
