DS 3 in 3 weeks and not remotely interested in potty training?

Title says it all.

Tried last Monday - put him in pants, 4 wees on floor in first hour. Only sat on potty once while I had to hold his hand. He isn't afraid of it, he just won't sit on it (he's very stubborn & single-minded)

Gave up on day 2!

DD was 2.6, announced she was going to use the potty and that was it. 3 accidents in all.

DS is the polar opposite.

I don't believe in forcing them if they aren't ready, but he's nearly 3! He's the only one in nappies at playschool.

Have tried stickers/marble jar/promises of new cars/trains, but he just ignores me.

Any suggestions?

no suggestions

both of mine were well beyond 3

wait til summer and ignore any tut-tutters

oh and the bonus of being a bit older is that you can bypass the potty and go straight to the loo with a trainer seat

hurrah !!

Cool, think I just wanted someone to say that. The women at playschool keep asking if I've tried yet - they've only had to change 2 pooey nappies since he started in Sept, so not too bad considering he's there 3 hrs every day. They used to say kids had to be potty trained before they started but I guess they aren't allowed to say that now. I can tell they aren't happy about it

Ds1 had no interest at 3. Then at 3.1 he announced he wanted pants and that was that. Things change so quickly at this age!

My dd is not interested and she will be 3 soon. She will not sit on the potty / the toilet / wear pants / go bare-bottomed / do any of the aforementioned for chocolate buttons / or stickers...

I'm sure this isn't helping. I'm not even pushing it for now as we have got precisely nowhere in this house.
