I wasn't going to potty train yet - but maybe DD is ready?

DD is just over 2 and I haven't really been trying to potty train - just to get her used to the idea of a potty.

I leave her nappy off most mornings and she will go to the potty of her own accord and do a wee. I have a few potties strategically placed so we are never too far from one.

I have noticed though that she never does a poo when she is upstairs - instead she asks for a nappy! Downstairs though there is no problem, and this evening i saw her realise that she needed to go and then went and found the potty.

Each time she does something i get really excited and clap and sing songs excitedly to her and she seems v pleased with herself.

I have tried putting her in pants before a little while ago, but she only told me when she was wet and not before.

Do you think she is ready now and i should try properly for a few days or she i just keep going slowly?

I haven't really looked up or read anything about potty training though - so does anyone have any good recommendations?

Thanks

It sounds like she is 'getting' it and i would continue what your doing, pants can feel close like a nappy so pant free is good in the beginning.
