Is it normal for a 4yr old to have poo accidents daily?

my 4 yr old dd has been out of nappies since age 2.5 but for last 3 months has been regularly having poo accidents

she claims it just comes out too quickly

it seems like she not going soon enough because too busy

but she doesnt tell us and sometimes we find its been there an hour or more and all dried on ... you would think it would feel horrible

havent been negative but have told her she should go as soon as ... and that i expect poo in the toilet

just wondering if i should check with gp in case it is a medical problem ... or whether that would just give more attention to something that is just behaviour and will pass?

any help would be appreciated as its getting frustrating

I would take her to the doctor just to make sure everything is OK tbh.

Has your dd been constipated? My dd was doing this (and still does sometimes). She also said that she didn't know it had happened. After several trips to the gp and being told she was doing it for attention because of her baby brother, she was referred to a specialist who diagnosed her with constipation with overflow soiling. It sounds like this may be what your dd has. Definitely see the gp. Dd was prescribed with Movicol to help clear the blockage and keep her regular.
