When can you say a DC is potty trained?

DS has been dry and clean for 3.5 days now (before that was having one accident every day or so, sometimes two a day).

Obv is still very early and I'd still say we were potty training, but at what point would you say a child was potty trained?

When they can ask for and take themselves to the potty or toilet, even when out.

He does ask, but needs a bit of help with trousers, pants and making sure everything's pointing in the right direction

So by that measure I suppose we have a way to go yet...

A child is toilet trained when they ask to go the toilet and accidents are rare.

It sounds like your ds has the idea, so I would consider him toilet trained. It takes a long time for a child to be 100% both day and night and many grown men piss in odd places.
