Hi

2 weeks in and lo is sitting on toilet and performing well! We started off with stickers for trying and choc button if she did something. She wised up to this pretty quick!!!

It has settled down a bit but we've had a hyperactive child all weekend and now want to wean her off the chocolate buttons without it disrupting the success she's had.

Tried going back to stickers but she threw a wobbly and I don't want a toilet trained but obese toddler!!!
Any tips?

so you have a hyperactive, choc eating little madame on your hands, lol.
we did stickers and choc. ds got a sticker for going, when he got 5 stickers he got 3 buttons. or cold turkey and dont buy them and offer her favourite fruit maybe grapes?
i know you really dont want to jeopardise the PT so i think distracting her from the buttons is the way to go.

We started off with chocolate buttons and after 2 days we moved to stickers on a chart with a picture of the toy they wanted at the end.

Don't buy any more buttons and talk about the chocolate is running out but each time she will get a sticker and then a xxx at the end of the chart.

Don't offer don't refuse.

Tell her you run out of chocolate buttons and give her an alternative treat. Ie. a bit of time on CBeebies or some raisens.
