plastic protector sheet for bed that doesn't rustle loads?!!

My Dd is pretty good at night times now and generally dry. I'd like to get her a plastic sheet to protect the mattress that doesn't rustle loads. I think it must be horrible sleeping on a crinkly plastic sheet...anyone got any better suggestions of what to buy and where? Thanks everyone!

Mothercare used to do one - its not a sheet, just a square that stays in place and doesn't rustle at all. It was quite expensive, I think £15 - 4 years ago, but well worth it.

Look up the hippychick bed protectors - they are just like a thick brushed cotton sheet (with a hidden non-rustly waterproof layer). Not that cheap though.

We have the normal one which is fine - better than they used to be. But when I searched for it, I found that they do something called a waterproof terry sheet. Sounds like it will be fabric, no?

I need one too so I'll order one and see what it's like.

Hi ladies, thanks for the tips. I like the look of the hippychick one.
I did have two from Mothercare, which may have been the terry one, cot bed size, but after repeated washing, they lost their waterproofness, and so one night she soaked the mattress. Yikes. Was pretty annoyed as mothercare stuff is usually quite good and these were expensive.
Off to John Lewis too this week so will have a look.

Ikea do a non-fitted one for a fiver (called LEN) and also pricier (but not as pricy as HC) fitted ones.

Rosebud, have you got one of the ikea ones? do they pass the non-rustle test? It's the whole crackly plasticy effect I want to avoid for Dd, cos it must be horrid to sleep on! But if ikea's are good, then cheap suits me. xx

If you're off to John Lewis anyway i can recommend one of these. Not sure if they do them in bigger sizes though. Have had ours on DS1s bed for nearly 2 yrs now.
