When/how to do nights?

DD1 dry in day v easily (she is 2.6) including her lunchtime nap. So far she seems happy to still have a nappy on at night and drinks a huge beaker of milk so nappy is wet in morning.

What do you do for nights? Wait till they are dry? Decrease the milk? Go cold turkey at some point?

Not really sure what the norm is or when girls are typically dry at night.

Thanks

Hi K75, I potty trained dd at 2.10yrs. after about 4 or 6 weeks she seemed to have dry nappies og=f her own accord, however, dd did have a beaker of milk at bedtime anmd as soon as she woke legged it to the potty for a huuuge wee!

we told dd she was having her bedtime milk just after tea (between half 4 / 5pm) so she has time to wee it back out, then in place of her milk i get the boxes of organix gingerbread men and she has a gingerbread man treat at bedtime. that, as you can guess, did not produce any complaints, and the empty bladder might help with dry night time nappies?

Wait until she is ready to give up the bedtime milk. When my DD turned three I said bedtime milk for babies, she could have milk with her tea instead - and she was dry in the morning. After 2 weeks of dry nappies I was happy to ditch them.

However DS aged 3.5 still wet at night, drinks water in bed (awayup cup), and gets upset when we threaten to take it away...

Wait til you've had a few dry nappies at night - I don't think you can really train at night it just happens when it happens. I never stopped giving bedtime milk or restricted drinks just reminded them to go to the loo before bed.
