or is it madness? DS has an operation on the top of his leg on January 13th. It is the third phase of surgery to remove a very large birthmark. With previous stages we have been worried about poo getting onto his wound, as the site of the operation is near the edge of his nappy, and if the nappy leaks it can be a concern. The appointment for the operation has come through sooner than i expected and i'd hoped to have potty trained beforehand. Am i crazy to attempt it? He is 2.5 months. He knows all about potties and we attempted it previously a few months ago but he wasn't ready. i think if we went cold turkey we'd have a good chance, but i have no experience...any thoughts welcome. if we leave it till after the op we won't be able to do it for two or three months as we'll need to wait for the wound to completely heal.

i think it would add stress to his life at an already stressful time.
Wait till he's healed up and then try going cold turkey. If you are not seeing a reduction in 'accidents' after 3 or 4 days he's not ready. If so wait a month and then try again
