What next?

DD has been "potty training" for about 2 weeks now. She's spot on when running around naked during the day but as soon as we put knickers on her she seems to think they're nappies and just goes in them.

I've tried explaining to her that she needs to take them off but its not getting through so at the mo when we go out I have to put a nappy on her.

Any tips?

ds1 was like that, it just took time tbh. i used to take a change of clothes for him if we went out, but also used to make sure i knew where all toilets were while out so that i could take him fairly frequently.

Should I just take her out clothed then and hope she's ok with it?
Our town is very limited in toilets but I could do it for trips to supermarket etc

DD was like this too so when I started her back in pants I put trousers on too so that she realised that she needed to take them down first. I think the pant were either too nappy-like or were so comfy that she didn't realise that she was wearing them.

The problem is she does it in trousers too, the only time she seems to get it is nude and obviously she can't go around naked! lol

She also has a problem with pooing on the potty which I think is down to a spate of diahroea (sp) that she's having at the mo.

Oh well, forget that suggestion then! DD only really got it initially when bare-bottomed but I started to put her back in pants by about the middle of the 2nd week. Having said that, DD had just turned 3 when we did it back in the summer so that may have had something to do with it.

I'll just keep going with it then,

When she wees in her pants/trousers I know I'm not meant to tell her off but is there anyway I can get her to understand that this sholdnt be done?

i have the same problem with my DD.. she is 3 in jan and she goes great on the potty and sometimes tiolet when she is naked.. the sec i put trousers on she pees or poos!! this has been goin on now since she turned 2.. frustrating as i say.. why babe did you do it in the toilet/potty she just shrugs n smiles.. she knows where she supposred to do it.. i know she knows she is bein naughty as she sometimes sits under the table then takes off ther bottoms.. some kids just take longer i think.. my DS was dry n no accidents from 2yrs! just gotta be persistant n calm
