Is my two year old ready?

Hi there. Just writing to get some guidance for my DD.

She is two next week (I can't believe it). And is obsessed with going to the toilet.

She has never actually done a wee on the potty / toilet but talks about it all the time. She did a poo once and was terrifed!

At the weekend we were out and she kept asking to go to the toilet and patting her nappy. When visiting the toilet she did not do anyting on the toilet, but I noticed her nappy was dry which was after 4 hours!!!!

She does not seem to know how to actually control going if that makes sense?

My DS was 2 years 4 months when I trained him, he was very easy and just did it himself?

Could she be ready? Is it time for nappy off at home and a potty on hand?

Any help would be appreciated :-)

Id go for it if i was you. My Ds1 was fully potty trained by his 2nd bday he was jus so keen and dyn to get big boy shorts... I started lettin him sit on every time i was changin his nappy for a few wks as he was young & if he did something id Make a huge fuss, ya know the way. Then 2 wks before his bday i got rid of nappies altogether and of course there were loads of accidents the 1st few days but each day there were less and he was delighted with himself and fully dry by day by his bday. If you hav the time and dont mind the extra washing for the immediate future go for it, best of luck

i've just potty trained my dd who was 2 2 weeks ago. accidents the first day, wondered if this was going to work. no accidents for the last week at all. she says when she needs a wee. I still put her in a nappy at night, but i'd go for it. she picked it up really well

My ds2 is 2 next week and potty trained, I'd go for it too, he was showing all the signs, it did take him 2 weeks to fully 'get it' we had lots of reminding and more poos in pants than I ever had with ds1 but I think its worth it now as no more washing nappies and more importantly only changing ds3's nappies
