Hello,
My 5.5yo DS (he has just started year 1) still wears nappies at night and he's starting to feel very self conscious and I need to start acknowledging it somehow. I've read that a hormone needs to mature and not to worry about it until aged 7, is that right? I think he does the wee quite early on in the evening (between 10-11) rather than 2am type thing. In the morning he'll often go straight to the toilet upon waking.
I'm hoping a parent who has been through this has soem
advice. If your 5.5yo was still in nappies, did this eventually stop or was there any element of trainjng involved? I'm reluctant to take him to the doctor or try anything unless I have to, so that I don't draw attention to anything.
He's told me that they all talk about it at school and no one in his year wears them ( this is nonsense im sure but goes to show it's on his mind) and his 3yo brother is now dry at night, and I'm having to either put him in a nappy (which is wasteful) or get him ready for bed seperately so he can't see that he doesn't wear a nappy.
My 5.5yo is very self conscious and I'm wondering if anyone has any tips on how to handle this? Is he likely to be dry by 7??? No SEN or other health concerns and he daytime potty trained as normal, no regressions or anything
thanks for reading!
