LT:DR 2y10m old can’t seem to recognise he’s weeing or wee-ed, after 2 days in pants, thought he was ready, do I give up again and wait?
I’ve written a post in chat already that was meant to be humorous about my 2y10m old DS who shows all the signs of being toilet trainable but just won’t entertain it.
I’ve shipped the elder DCs off for five days to try and nail it but as I approach bedtime on day 2 of our second attempt, I find myself thinking maybe he isn’t really ready as he doesn’t seem to know when he’s weeing at all - and will merrily continue what he’s doing with wet pants and legs, socks etc.
We’ve had no wees or poos on the toilet, many on the floor and one DP is adamant was purposely done - in the Lego box.
And we’re visiting the toilet every 20 minutes at the moment!
With nothing going in it!
And nothing on the sticker chart he chose!
I’m not new to potty training, genuinely trained a lot of children but none as old as mine with no wee recognition this late on! Or no “ooops, wee-ed!” and no wees on a toilet at all by the end of day two.
He starts school nursery in a few weeks and I know from past experiences they’ll change a nappy but begrudgingly so, so I do feel under pressure!
