Should I quit potty training?

Hi everyone,
I’m looking for some advice because I’m feeling quite discouraged with my daughter’s potty training.
She’s turning 3 in October.
We started daytime potty training 20 days ago after she told me her nappy is “ugly, so I thought she was ready. I’m not working on nighttime training yet.

During the first week, we prompted her to use the potty every 15 minutes and praised every success.
On the second day, she surprised us by telling us she needed to poop while she was playing, and she used the potty successfully. We celebrated, and I thought she’d “got it,” but since then progress has been much slower.

Over the last 20 days, she’s had at least two or three pee accidents. She never tells us she needs to pee, although today, for the first time, she told me before she went, which I praised a lot. She had a few poo accidents, the last one was today after 10 days.
She’s occasionally told us she needs to poop, but most of the time we still rely on prompting at natural times (for example, when we get home after being out for a couple of hours), and she’ll often use the potty then.
Tonight, though, she had another poop accident before bed. It was her third poop of the day, so we weren’t expecting it.
Now she can stay dry for 2 hours but we still have to prompt her.
Is this kind of progress normal after 20 days, or is it a sign that she’s not quite ready and we should take a break and go back to nappies for a while? I’d really appreciate hearing from parents who have had a similar experience.
What happens if I give up? Will it be more difficult to start again?
I potty trained my first two daughters without struggles that’s the reason I’m almost giving up.

Thank you

This sounds entirely reasonable to me. I don’t see the point in going backwards- sounds to me that you and her are both doing really well!

Thank you for your answer. I noticed that I wrote she has had two or three pee accident but I didn’t say everyday.
That’s pushing me to give up.
