Should I pause potty training while my three year old recovers?

Hiya, my just turned 3 year old has been potty trained for about 2 weeks now. She’s done great with the wees (still to master the poos) but the past 24 hours she has been saying “owwww” when going for a wee or wriggling around on potty. I took her to the GP who prescribed antibiotics anyway as they couldn’t get a urine sample but I’m not sure whether to put her in nappies again as she’s being a bit funny about wearing her pants. I really don’t want her to regress with potty training but am I just better to let her do what she wants while we wait for her to get better?? She’s absolutely fine in herself other than when actually needing the loo/weeing.

How would nappies help? It won't hurt any less weeing in a nappy.

If she has a UTI then she has a UTI whether she’s weeing in a nappy or a potty so not sure what exactly you would be trying to achieve? Or am I missing something?

I probably would pause it depending on how she was with the potty
How is she potty training, if she is holding it and refusing to go yes I would pause as trying j no to pee is not good for a uti.
i would also pause if I thought the pain on going would make a negative connection with the the potty, she is so new to it. Trying again in a few weeks would be fine

i probably would from a comfort perspective until she’s well again! Doubt it would undo too much

Yes, I said in my OP that she is being a bit funny about wearing pants, and might feel more comfortable to do a wee if she’s in her nappy therefore not holding it in as much

No keep on as you are, I think going back to nappies would be confusing for her.
