Potty training next steps after number 1s success and regular prompting

I posted on here a few days ago about whether to continue potty training.
we persevered and day 4 we’ve had no wet accidents and 1 poo accident at nursery.
I prompt him to go to the potty every 1-1.5 hours and he will do a wee but sometimes just a small one.
He has asked to go once today and successfully made it to the potty however my question is what do we do for the next stage?
I don’t want to forever be taking him to sit on the potty every 1.5hrs so should I stop prompting as often and see if he asks with the possibility of more accidents or if I keep promoting will he eventually get it himself 🤔. I don’t want to over prompt and him get fed up and not know when he needs to go himself but also worry if I leave him and he has more accidents he will feel negative about the whole experience. He sometimes isn’t keen about sitting on the potty but will go and is pleased with himself when he wees.
Also with the poos I know this can sometimes come a bit later but is there anything I can do to encourage him to sit on the potty when he needs one or do they tend to get it naturally?

Potty training is hard!

Prompting doesnt last forever...its only day 4! I would say i prompted less about day 5-7 and started doing it only when I was vigilantly staring at their crotch saw signs and as a statement. "I can see you need a wee. the potty is here"

I found dressing them in clothes they can pull down easily themselves and having accessible potties v helpful.

we had one in the middle of the living room for a week or 2 .. that then moved to a corner then hall. Then we used down stairs loo.

Dd potty trained at 2y2m and is 4.
I still remind her to try having a wee before we go out and first thing and last thing because its helping her form the habits. But ultimately she just tells us and shes been doing that a long time.
