Toddler hates taking nappy off for potty training

We started potty training our DD at the weekend (32 months old). She has seemed VERY reluctant before. We found though that if she wasn't wearing a nappy, she got the hang of going to the potty when she needed to wee.

The hard bit is getting her nappy off in the morning, or when we are in the house. She gets very very upset, even when we calmly explain, cuddle and try not to make it a big thing. Generally once it's been off for about 5 mins she is ok but I am worried that she is starting to get more distressed about taking her nappy off, and we will end up getting worse!

Has anyone faced anything similar?

Be very matter of fact. Each morning calmly explain that nappies are for night time and pants for the day. At 2 years and 8 months old she is well old enough to understand that. Don't delay taking the nappy off in the morning because that will give her mixed signals. Whatever happens just be consistent.

As above. It's the first thing that happens. Nappy off, morning wee on the potty/toilet, and then downstairs for breakfast and toys. She doesn't leave her bed with it on.
