Potty training

Hi

DD is my second child, her older brother is autistic so potty training him was extremely hard and he didn't crack it until pretty late. But he had no accidents and dry in the night within a week.

She turned 2 in Jan and has shown an interest in the toilet and today has done 2 wee's on the toilet.

Basically, what do I do now 🙈
Keep her nappy off at home? Do I also keep it off when out now?
im not sure if because so early she'd manage when out. Do I buy a carry round potty?

Sorry if this all seems obvious but two very different children and I want to make sure I'm doing it right.

We did commando when out with loose shorts under dresses when we were potty training. For the first week or so we did very brief trips out, like going to the shop for milk (not doing a full shop) with lots of prompting to go toilet on the way. We had a fold up potty that can be used as a toilet seat adapter aswell as a standalone potty which I preferred over the carry potty's

Normally you stay in for a couple of weeks until they crack it, only going out when you need to.

What you'll need to work on now is her awareness of being about to go, being able to hold it for long enough to get out the house, and increasing independence in the bathroom.

There are a lot of methods for potty training out there but generally awareness is either with naked time or just underwear so they can feel they've gone. Then with holding it you can start to build the routine of "We're going out so sit and see if you have any wees" and "We've just come home so we go to the bathroom now to sit on the loo and wash our hands".

Oh crap is a popular one and might be a good fit considering what you've said so far
