Day 10 of potty training

My LG turns 3 in about 2 weeks.

We started potty training, by day 3 she was doing amazing and I think had maybe 1/2 accidents. We are now on day 10 and the past say 3/4 days it feels like it has just been constant accidents, she is no longer initiating toilet trips by herself, she is not wanting to cooperate when I say let’s sit on the potty or toilet. It takes some real convincing!

Chat GBT has suggested I take a break from training but after coming this far, it feels disheartening!

Any mummas have any advice? We had one successful poop on the toilet. The rest she asks for nappies which is perfectly fine for now as she is treated for constipation. I understand poops take more time.

Im lost. It doesn’t phase her having accidents. I have stayed really neutral about them but I mean come onnn, i thought by day 10 the accidents would be minimal.

thank you for reading

Some do take longer than others. If you're coping with it yourself then I'd press on.

All of my children have got it within a day an probably not had more than a small handful of accidents in all the years since. I’d say she’s not ready given how it seems to be going.

Hello, I just posted a similar thread as we are in the same position. ChatGPT also told me to take a break! I want to press on to be honest but not sure what will be best for my little one... so will follow any other advice or experiences here with interest

Ah I am glad it isn’t just me! Just a little update, we seem to be having some growth from her last molars coming through. I don’t think this is helping as her behaviour has been very up and down the last couple of days. I’m hopeful when her teeth settle she will start to improve.

I did ask her if she wanted a nappy on and she said no, so it makes it easier in a sense that taking a break isn’t an option. I do however seem to be following her around with a mop all day 😂
