Day 1

DC4 but with a big gap so forgive me I've forgotten what's normal. DD is 2.5 and we started today as she starts playgroup in 2 weeks. Day 1 she managed 4 wees on the potty and had had 2 accidents. She's happy to sit on both the toilet with a seat and the potty. Finding it hard going following her around and constantly trying the potty. Is this good going? She's delighted when she makes the potty but cries when she had an accident despite me soothing her and saying it's ok. Should I keep at it tomorrow? So many friends saying their little ones were trained at 18 months etc but my others were closer to 3yo.

Sounds like she’s doing well. I would carry on and see how it goes tomorrow

I would keep going Mine were both over three despite earlier attempts. I found working out roughly how often they needed a wee and took them to the potty at the time interval. It was about 1.5 hours, it reduced the accidents.

Day 2 was a disaster. 2 on the toilet and 5 on the floor 😵‍💫 I was all for giving up then today we've had 5 on the toilet and only one accident. I've decided just to go with it no matter how many bad days I get and I'm hoping seeing the other kids at Playgroup use the toilet will help 😁 she starts in 1 week.

I think that’s great going, both days! We did it close to three and it took quite a lot of accidents to get it! I had totally unrealistic expectations as everyone told me it would take two days! But we had to persevere! I’d say stick with it if you can
