Major potty training regression

Looking for some advice!

I started potty training my 2 1/2 year old about 6 months ago, he did all of his wees on the potty but we have always had issues with poo (withholding). He was in pants but he kept pooing in them, I got so fed up of cleaning up it that I put him back in nappies. For a while he did great and was mainly dry but now he is constantly weeing in his nappy and protests when I try to prompt him to go for a wee on the potty.

I've tried training pants but he doesn't seem to care about being wet and I've tried sticker charts and the don't wee on the characters on the pants tricks and nothings worked.

I really don't want to have to go back to the start again, is it my only option?

You need to remove the nappies. Pooh in pants is nasty but nappies won't help. Buy cheap pants and bin them let him watch it go into toilet and flush away....books like pooh goes to pooh land may help. The Eric website has good advice on this issue....but yes you may have a few wet accidents to start again as he's probably forgotten he's not in a nappy.
