We really want to start potty training my DD - she really wants to wear pants - great - but she has never done a wee on the potty (or the toilet)

She says she wants to…she’ll sit on it, sometimes for ages, she’s sat on dozens and dozens of times for at least 5 mins, sometimes way longer. Nothing. I’ll get her to blow, do breathing exercises etc but she has never managed it. She watches me do it all the time. She sees her friends do it. Is there some magic way of explaining how to pee that I’m just missing? Short of just forcing her to sit on it for a whole day?? I honestly feel that if she does just one then we’ll be good to go but I can’t potty training her when I don’t actually know if she’s capable of peeing in it!!

someone please tell me they also had this issue and tell my stupid brain how to solve it.

Not sure how this ties into her having sat on the potty and tried already etc as my daughter didn’t do that, but we potty trained her in one weekend when she was 2.5 using the Oh Crap method. Very effective! Basically leave her with no bottoms on and immediate access to a potty and she figures it out. We spent a bank holiday weekend in the garden plying her with drinks and she used the potty successfully after two accidents. Done and dusted!
