Aim issues

Hi, my DS is 31 months and been doing really well with potty training 9 days in. Most pees and poos are going in the potty or toilet but his aim isn’t always great and it often comes out onto the floor. Any advice on how to stop this before it becomes funny or a habit? I always say make sure you are pointing down, sometimes it is but still
doesn’t make it in the toilet 😵‍💫 thanks x

My DS had an aiming issue and would sometimes pee on his shoes. It turned out to be hypospadias. Instead of aiming down, he needed to lift his penis a little as the urethra hole is very slightly under where it should be. Something to consider.

We used a small step, and had a ping pong type ball in the loo. DS took great delight in trying to aim for it...DH had almost as much fun showing him how 😀

Thank you both, really appreciate your replies.

I have a recollection of something being mentioned when he was a newborn about his urethra but no one can find it on his record so it could be a similar issue.

my DH’s face lit up when I mentioned the ping pong ball suggestion 😂

Yes to the small step and ping pong ball. My three boys loved this!

I still sometimes aim for my son if a public toilet is too high for him.
