My LG is 3 1/2 and goes through stages of being good with the toilet, and then will have weeks where she’ll constantly wet herself, or refuses to confirm she even needs to go. I’ve tried the positive route, the sticker charts etc, she just doesn’t see it as being important. I feel awful because sometimes I do tell her off for it because it’s honestly so frustrating as I know she understands. She’s an ex 31 weeker, might this be why or am I just lookingfor a reason? I’m 6 months pregnant so not sure if this is impacting her even though she’s excited. I need some reassurance as it’s really starting to get me down, feel like im doing something wrong and I hate showing her that im frustrated with her, she’s only small and I don’t want her to feel like she’s disappointing me. Am I expecting too much? It’s literally been a year or trying! Any advice would be appreciated!

No help but solidarity. One of mine trained themselves before their second birthday so I know I'm not doing anything wrong but it's not working.

Could be subconscious given there’s a new baby on the way.

She wants to be a big girl but is worried that she’ll no longer be your child when the new baby comes.

Ask her if she wants to go back into nappies for a while. This will reassure her.

When the new baby arrives, let her be involved and help out and reward her, emphasising the things that she can do (and get) as a big girl that the new baby can’t.

Hopefully it will resolve. x
