No space for potty in bathroom

Haven’t started potty training yet but daughter is 29 months so I’d like to by summer. We’ve had a potty around the house for about 6 months and she’ll sit on it but never wees or poos there. Often wees immediately after standing up. I’ve read we should put the potty in the bathroom so she can go at the same time as us, but there’s genuinely no space in there (except if we put it in the shower I guess). Advice? Is it really important to have it in the bathroom? Anyone go directly to the toilet?

Get a toilet seat that has the insert for kids. Doesn't need tk be a potty in the bathroom.

Even better than that, get this…
Ive helped train many many kids over the years and never used a potty.

This is perfect, thank you! I expect she’ll enjoy going up the step too :)

This is what I mean. Those ones linked above are bulky.

Thanks @Hercisback1 , this is good too but I don’t have room for a normal step in our bathroom so the folding style of the other will (hopefully) work well for us and solve the issue with reaching the sink too.

Having had both, the step one is reallt bulky. If you haven't got space for a potty, you haven't got space for the step one.
Have you seen the folding steps?

Krakinou · 05/05/2025 11:46

I’ve got a flat folding stool but it’s an accident waiting to happen fingers wise and she’s really strong minded so I’m hoping more independence will help. I’ve ordered one anyway and let’s see. If not I’ll go for your suggestion. Good to know the potty itself isn’t necessary.
