Senna doss 3yo

Hi - 3.5yo has been withholding since about 1, due to a bad bout of constipation. Managed with movicol well until toilet training. Manages 1-2 soft type 4 poos a day on the toilet with lots of encouragement. Has started with senna due to starting to withhold again when training. Now on 4ml senna and has urgency to poo and will say she needs a poo but can’t hold it until she gets to a toilet resulting in soft poo in knickers but not runny. Is this likely that the senna dose is too high for her?

Just wanted to answer your post. My DD4 withholds, same reasons as yours and it is just awful for them.

We had little joy with senna. DD cramped quite badly with it.

Have you tried movicol again? How many had you been doing per day? We had a regression a few months ago after a decent period without any softeners. All got back on track after following the disimpaction schedule. Currently on one a day. Doubling up if she goes more than 2 days without a poo.

I have been assured it will eventually click that there’s nothing to fear and we just have to keep them soft to stop the fear worsening again.

yes we never stopped the movicol, she has 1-2 sachets a day, depending on how soft her poo is. I don’t think she’s constipated as she poos well and I haven’t noticed any signs like I did last time we had to disimpact. It’s like the senna, she literally can not hold it (which I know is the point ha) but if we’re at the park etc it’s so mean on her as she knows she needs to go she just can’t make it in time.
hoping the day comes soon (for us both) where this is a thing of the past. Feel like I’m obsessed with poo!! 😂
