What can I do? She's scared. She'll go at home OK or at school and at family's houses but it's really stopping us go out to a lot of places. She won't tell me why she's scared.

Mine were terrified of the hand driers. Could that be it?

Oddly no. She loves the hand dryer!

It's the actual toilet. We get to the cubicle and she just screams no!

Does she use a seat at home? Cab you take one out with you? Or even a potty to use in a cubicle for now?

HPandthelastwish · 01/02/2025 21:35

Get a folding seat to make the toilet smaller

No she didn't want to use it as it was for babies! She's fine with the one at school too

My DD is scared of hand dryers and falling down. We use baby change / accessible toilet and a folding toilet seat. I’m hoping she grows out of it! Could it be either of those?

But she isn't OK with strange toilets.... so maybe try one?

HPandthelastwish · 01/02/2025 21:39

The school toilet will be child sized though.

I shall look into those folding ones I don't think she'd go back to the one with handles. Thank you everyone.

Is it at the point where it’s causing problems? My child only goes when it’s absolutely an emergency out and about, but they have good bladder control and so it doesn’t seem like it’s really a problem because it doesn’t cause accidents or anything like that. I can see how some people would think it’s an issue but I don’t really feel like it’s a problem we have to conquer because it doesn’t cause any issues right now. I know personally I also don’t really love to use toilets out and about but I don’t find it to constrain my life at all.

My son would not have a poo at school during all his school life. Sometimes he'd literally be running in to the house to get to the loo.

She has accidents if we're out the house too long
