Teach me about night time potty training!

DD has been potty trained since she was 2 years 1 month. It was very easy, she basically did it herself with no huge input from us and pure luck she was ready then.

I understand that the night time training is often a lot later, and is hormonal based. But this is where I’m confused! She’s now 2 years 8 months and has begun waking up at night for no apparent reason. She sometimes complains her nappy is full, or wants it taken off, or mentions her nappy when she never has before. Is the hormone kicking in and waking her up for a wee (which she then does in the pull up because she knows no different) or does the hormone mean not needing a wee very often overnight (she sleeps 7-7, don’t think my bladder would last that long!!)

Do I put a potty in her room and tell her to shout me if she needs a wee or is this asking for trouble all night? I don’t think she could do the pull up by herself although once in pants she obviously could.

Or is this not a sign she’s ready? Her pull up is still very wet each morning. I’m in no rush just didn’t want to miss the moment if this is it!

Put some disposable bed mats on her bed, put a potty in the room, ditch the nappy and see how it goes.

Your situation sounds very similar to ours OP. Can I ask whether you have tried anything and how it’s worked?
