16 month old too early?

My 16 month old DS has started pointing at his nappy before he does anything in it, points at the potty and HATES wearing his nappy, especially if it has anything in it even just 1 wee.
He can’t talk so I’m worried about starting potty training so young and without him able to verbally tell me he needs to go.
is he too young or should I follow his lead and see how it goes?

Not too young at all, especially as he’s leading the change, you’ll find a way to communicate without talking like you are already with him. Only thing I’d say is to just be mindful of your expectations and have in mind that if it doesn’t work out you try again another time, no pressure for you or your son
