New rash on buttocks after starting potty training

Hi there,
we started potty training my son who is 2years and 1 month, 3 days ago. We’ve only taken a bare below the waist approach so far. Hes taken to it really well. Completing most wees on the potty with prompts and self initiated on a couple of occasions. Unfortunately he has come out in a red rash on his buttocks mainly. He does suffer with mild eczema in general but this is out of character for him. He never suffered with nappy rash before potty training. I wonder if it’s the new exposure to surfaces on this area of skin. Has anyone else experienced this? If so any advice on what to do to help? I’m worried it’s progressively started to look more sore as the days progress. Would hate for us to lose the progress we’ve made because of a sore bum.

Would having a pair of trousers on help do people think to reduce the regular exposure of the skin?

any advice is welcomed greatly,

thank you in advance x

What are you cleaning the potty with?

Because it's likely a rash from sitting on disinfectant used to clean the potty.
