Bed wetting alarm

My son is 6 and has never been dry at night. It's starting to annoy him so I've bought a bed wetting alarm.

Any tips from anyone that's used one? Should I sleep in his room with him?

How did you get on? Some bed wetting alarms you can buy a second receiver and hear in your own room but it depends how far away you are.
