No Garden - What Method?

Hi there,
We have a very busy and active DS (2y3m) and live in a flat with no garden. All the "methods" I have come across require staying at home for 2/3 days and wandering around nappy free. This simply isnt an option for us. Does anyone know of any methods we can follow that dont require the kid to be at home naked for days on end?
TIA!

It was wet weather when we did it, so although we had a garden we didn’t use it when potty training.
I’m sure 48hrs inside won’t kill either of you. Oh crap! is really easy. You can get out on day 3.

Lots of methods go straight to pants. The Gina Ford one or the ‘3 day method’ (google it) come to mind but really anything that isn’t Oh Crap. But any method that works is going to mean staying home and concentrating on that for 3 days. I trained one whilst living in a flat actually sort of using Oh Crap and bare bum. The other using GF and going straight into pants, we were in a house then but the garden is tiny and it was winter so didn’t go out there. No it’s not a fun part of parenting but we managed it and I don’t think a garden is in any way necessary. Get some new toys and plan plenty of activities to keep busy and it’ll be fine! Then from day 3 it was wee on the potty then out to the park, pack a change and back within the hour. Gradually building up to longer outings.

I never did the bare bottom approach. I just put DS in pants and had a potty available to use when I prompted him or if he asked to go for a wee I took him up to the toilet or the potty depending on which was closest. There's absolutely no need for them to spend days running around with no clothes on.

We didn’t have a garden when I potty trained my 2 either (well we did technically but it wasn’t accessible!!), I remember just putting the potty down and they wore pull ups, both were girls and really keen to use the potty though and really quickly progressed to the toilet. I did wait until I thought they recognised the signs before attempting training.
ds was so lazy when it came to toilet training!

We didn’t do naked, we just had DD in a short dress and no pants.

It’s hard to catch a wee with pants on. But it only took half a day to het the hang of it.

We were actually stuck at home for 10 days as it was Covid isolation times but that was a bonus to be honest. But we were fine on day 3 to be out.

When I toilet trained , back in the day , they wore pants and were asked regularly if they needed to go - they didn’t run around the garden in the buff .

Thanks all! Will try some pants :-)

We didn't do bare bum training as DC nursery specifically asked parents not to. We also didn't use the garden any more than normal during potty training! I think what we did was probably more along the Gina Ford lines but with our own tweaks based on DC stubbornness personality.

You can just start with pants, or commando (trousers and no pants) and just sit them on the potty every hour or so.
