Potty training 3yr9m

Started potty training my DS about a week ago, 3yr 9months
Doing the oh crap method which seems to be working well
He hasn’t had any wee accidents on the floor for a few days now, comes up to me to signal when he wants to go (huge speech delay atm)
He hasn’t used the potty of his own accord yet
Done 2 poos on the floor which I read is normal as it can take them a while to use the potty for a poo or he waits until bedtime when he has his pull up on
I’m still on block 1 (naked from waist down) as he’s doing so well with it
I’m unsure as to when to go on to block 2 as worried he will start having lots of accidents or is that normal? Also what do people do on outings?
I put a pull up on him the other day to the park then back off when back home. I don’t want to confuse him but i’m not sure if it’s too early to go commando when out?
Any advice/tips would be great
Thanks

Take a potty when you go out, keep the underpants on.

My first had speech delay and we trained at 3 years and 6 months. No words for wee wee or poo poo at the time.

We moved to trousers no underpants after about 5 day and then undies after 2 weeks.

There will be accidents, for me this is part of it and part for you to learn his timings.

For going out - take spares and we had a travel potty
