DD is 2.5 and we are on day 5 of potty training. She has been pretty successful with doing most pees/poos in the potty but most of the time it's me noticing signs that she needs and putting her on the potty rather than her saying she needs. Today we put pants/trousers on and she just keeps having accidents and doesn't seem to care that she's wet. If you ask if she needs the toilet she'll say no but then pee a few minutes later 🤷

Do I go back to having nothing on until she starts telling us that she needs or just persevere knowing that there will be accidents and just keep prompting? We haven't left the house all week but have something on Sunday and I'm unsure whether to put her back in pull ups for the day or just take lots of clothes with me!

She fully understands what the toilet and potty are for, understands instructions and is great at communicating so I do think she is ready.

what about just dresses for now then you only have to change the pants, she seems smart so maybe big rewards or lots of praise and cuddles when she does go

I’m in the same position, Google suggests trying commando until they get it so that’s our next step 🤞

We've been commando for 6 days and she still isn't telling me when she needs to go 😭😂 today she was reluctant to even sit on the potty/toilet. I thought she was ready but now I'm not sure!

So frustrating as don't really want to stop but also don't want to waste weeks in the house if she's not ready. I read a potty guide that said to clear your schedule for 3 days 🙃

We gave up as didn't feel like she was completely ready! Due baby number 2 soon so will try again in a few months once we get through the new baby stage! 😊

One of mine did this for a out 10.days then just got it and apart from the odd accident (which we were really low key boring about) nothing. Did lots of (often fake) phonecalls within ear shot telling Nanna/Aunty Jo/everyone how amazing she was doing and how she was going to be wearing big girl knickers soon as she did eear nappies any more.

Worked a treat!

I've just started potty training my three year old and we're having exactly this problem, feel like we'll never leave the house again! We're on day five (with a break for a birthday nappy where he wore a pull up) and he's doing so well, until we put pants or trousers on. We've tried with pants and we've tried commando and it doesn't seem to make a difference Sad
