Hi so I'm wanting to start potty training my 3½ year old as my son hates wearing nappies. However, due to him possibly being autistic, I'm finding it really difficult to find the right way to potty train him. I obviously know there's no right way to potty train a child as every child is different. However, some help and advice would be really appreciated.

If he hates wearing nappies I'd do with that. No nappies and nothing on his bottom half. The crucial thing is having him and the potty both within arms reach, so go for activities that keep him still eg trains or craft. Then as soon as he starts to wee pick him up and put him on the potty and then progress to saying wees go in the potty! And get him to run. Good luck!

My 3 old boy is not interested in potty training at all! I have brought 2 types of pottys and lots of underwear but he gets upset every time I mention about going into pants :( He would rather climb all over the potty than use it! He is able to communicate with me and does tell me when he has done a poo but I don't know what it is with the potty. He does hide when he is doing a poo into his personal space. He starts main stream nursery in September. Any advice would be great. Thank you xx

Does he tend to hid in the same place to do a poo? If so I would start by putting the toilet there for him x

Thomas the Tank Engine singing potty 😂 that was the only one he’d use.
