Hi, sorry this is my first post so hopefully I've done this right! Appreciate any help! I first attempted to potty train my son just after 2 using the three day method, didn't work at all. Repeated it again a few times, he just didn't get it all but really enthusiastic. We then had a house move after having to stay in temporary accommodation for a while so a lot of upheaval. I started again when we got our new house and we made good progress but he wasn't quite getting anywhere with number 2s. I was then heavily pregnant and not able to deal with the mess so he went back into pull ups. Once he turned 3 & new baby settled we went all in and he fully mastered wees. No real issue there. I made a huge fuss about getting the poos sorted so made a personalised reward chart with trips out he wanted. He loved this and was getting them in the potty about 50% of the time. However he lost interest in the charts and has regressed. Recently they're all in pants. I bought a toy he wanted and put it up high so he can see it and he knows what he needs to do to get it. The oh crap book says to punish him but I don't really wanna do that. There's no medical issue, I don't really know what the issue behind it all is but i desperately need to get him fully trained before preschool in sept. He's intelligent & no developmental issues

Reading this makes me feel bad about my3 year old who still mostly pees into his pull ups. Poos are easier for him.

i won‘t punish. Stickers are a great idea. We‘ve started rewarding him with food, which is obviously also wrong but he‘ll poop in the toilet for a gummybear. That’s how my mum and grandma did it and it works although i think it sends the wrong message regarding food/emotional eating but at some point i‘d like to move on from the pull ups..
