Hi all
started training near 3 year old DS a few weeks ago. He actually says “do potty training” himself so take his night nappy off, place potty in living room with toys out books etc. Thing is he then brings all his toys around the potty, and just sits on the potty playing/ reading/ watching tv for hours on end! We do get a wee occasionally and have had 1 poo. However I don’t believe this is helping much as it’s not reading the cues to go to the loo and not reflective of being in nursery/ out and about when he can’t obviously just sit constantly on the potty!!
if anyone had similar or any suggestions I’d be very grateful. Thanks.

Could you take the potty away and tell him he needs to ask for it? Or move him to the big loo instead? My nearly three year old boy would have nothing to do with a potty so he trained on the loo with a seat. He sounds like he really likes his potty though :-)
