Feel like we’re not getting anywhere

Age is three and three months and it’s so stressful.

I never hear ‘I need a wee.’ Just have to take to the toilet regularly but so so many accidents.

Poo - not getting anywhere.

And we’re six months down the line.

I am really worried I’ve caused harm by pushing it?

4.5 and we are still working on it

3 is young to have it sorted

Often going to school is where it all comes together

Sympathising with you. All I hear is that others have got it, makes you feel so awful and down and in a black hole you can't get out of. You're not alone. If you work out how to crack it then please post as I'd love to know how too.

does little one seem aware they’ve had an accident? If not then I would just go back to the beginning

do not prompt to pee. When they wet themselves clean up etc and reinforce the toilet. Ask little one if they can listen to their body and remind them that their body tells them when they need to wee and poo.

i have found that overprompting almost prevents our children from feeling the urges/ fullness of a bladder

I didn’t expect this to be upped - we’re still struggling. I’m seriously considering going back to nappies. I know - but I ran out of pants yesterday afternoon and had to put him in a nappy and it was so nice not to have to worry about him wetting or soiling himself.

But the main thing is I hate nappies or pull ups on him now. It feels … wrong. But he isn’t anywhere near toilet trained if I’m honest.
