That’s it. She won’t go to the toilet and she’s making herself ill. She said ‘I am never ever peeing or pooing on the potty’.

we’ve tried oh crap, potty training in 3 days, taking her regularly, training pants, treats. Nursery have given up as she was wetting herself regularly so they put her in nappies most of the day and she just pees/ poos straight away. At home, she she holds all day until she puts on her ‘night underwear’ (night pull up with knickers over the top). I’ve taken time out of work but it’s just tantrums and hitting. She doesn’t have this behaviour over anything else.

she screams and scream. I’m in tears constantly.

no medical needs or neuro diversity. She’s just a brat and she thinks she’ll win if she holds out.

GP, Health visitor just tell us to consult nhs guidance (tried, failed) and told us to ‘ensure she wees so she doesn’t get an infection’.

Just wait, you can't win a battle with a toddler. You need to take all pressure off by waiting, might take a month might take 6 but let her forget it was a battle and start again.

You are clearly pushing this and she's pushing back, she's not a brat, she is 3.

I would put her in pants, but tell her that she can have a nappy when she needs a wee or poo.

Get her to ask for a nappy, like she would ask for the toilet.

When she asks, take her to the bathroom and put a nappy on and let her go in the nappy.

When you have this down, try having her sit on an open nappy, a nappy in a potty and build towards it.

She's not a brat. She scared of the toilet/potty. It's common.
