I started potty training my son this week (32 months). I think we’re doing well but have nothing to compare to! We had lots of wees in potty yesterday and a few accidents. Today we’ve had 2 accidents in the morning and then the rest, about 8, in potty. I’m really pleased with him and have kept him in only a tshirt. I think pants/clothes are really going to confuse him so I’m trying to stay in and pantless as much as I can this week. When I start going out, do I just start short durations? Just expect to get wet for park trips etc? I have no idea what I’m doing. Don’t want to set him up to fail, just not sure what to expect/how much time to put aside. Advice please😊

He sounds like he's doing amazing! I trained DD around 2.5 and started with nothing on the bottom half, left her like that for two days then put her in loose joggers no pants so it didn't feel like she was wearing a nappy and she could feel what it would be like when she wet. She got it really quickly then about two days of just joggers I added pants. I'd give it a couple of days before venturing out then just start with short trips, plenty changes of clothes and a travel potty in the car/buggy is a lifesaver!

Thanks for your reply. Honestly I’m being ridiculous, just can’t imagine my baby out of nappies (and I do actually have a baby too😂). I’m glad it sounds like he’s doing well to you! That’s really encouraging. At what point did your stop having accidents? And when do they start to say they need to go? I can’t imagine him actually asking to go but I guess once it’s a bit more engrained that wee goes in potty he may x

I think we were roughly a week in when frequent accidents stopped it just seemed to click, don't get me wrong she's 4 now and still has the odd one occasionally but that's just out of stubbornness when she's busy lol.
I took her with me for a food shop about a week in and she managed to stay dry the whole time.
I did a sticker chart with DD which helped her to go on her own with less prompting from me and it worked really well.

Thank you for your advice. My boy had no wee accidents yesterday. We went for a walk in just joggers to get him out the house. He has asked for a nappy on this morning so I think he’s got fed up being half naked-obviously no nappy but am trying him in trousers today. Will probably keep pants off until he’s use to weeing when we go out 😊
