We are on day 2 of potty training - so appreciate I might be worrying too early! DS3 nailed it on day 1. He was naked from the waste down and was on and off the potty with just one accident first thing. Day 2 today we put him commando in trousers. He had an accident in trousers and so (at his request) he’s naked again today. However, he won’t get off the potty now and gets very upset when we suggest he does. Think he’s worried about having another accident - we are telling him it’s fine if he does. At the moment we are going with the flow (ha) but just hoping someone else will tell me they had the same thing happen.
Second is - when we have managed to get him off the potty he physically holds his bottom and penis when off it. Again we are reassuring him and telling him he doesn’t need to but he clearly thinks it’s going to fall out if he doesn’t hold on.
He’s at home with me again on day 3 so we are going to try pants again then. He’s due to go to nursery on day 4. Just looking for advice really on whether it sounds like he’s not ready and if we need to put nappies back on - which he really doesn’t want. Thanks for any wisdom x
