We started potty training our 2.5-year-old girl a few weeks back. she was showing signs of being ready - all good all fine to start with. 2 morning wee's, one wee at nursery! however... she started not wanting to go on it anymore, and when she did sit on the potty when bribed with treats nothing happened. However, over the last 3/4 days... she started wiggling and not being able to sit still which has gotten worse. At first, she started just a bit of wiggling and when we asked if she needed a wee she said no and cried and ran off like she didn't want us to make her go on the potty. It had gotten to the point of her saying it hurts, wiggling, stamping and running up and down crying and screaming for hours. I took her to the doctors and they said the urine sample had a small trace of blood and protein but not massive - they gave 3 days of antibiotics as she seemed distressed. 2 days of antibiotics later and she is still doing it. I try to ask her questions to try and work out if it's a UTI or if it's her holding her wee in. She says it hurts before she needs a wee. next time I ask, She says she is holding it and she doesn't want it to come out. I'm to sure what I believe. She screams and tells me she's having a wee when she isn't, but I don't know if this is the annoying sensation that comes with a UTI. I know that feeling of constant feeling of needing a wee, but nothing happening and that feeling of irritation that makes you fidget and irritated. I'm worried I have messed up and now need to undo this somehow... but it's evening up until 10:30 until has a wee because there is NO WAY she can even sit or lie down to go to bed! It's wiggling and screaming and kicking her legs! Help!
