Just that, hit me with your Oh Crap success stories please? How did it take in block one for your LO (&age) to reliably know they were needing one with some notice before as it was coming?

Day one today so feeling relatively positive as we’ve had one started on the potty, some finished off with initial wees done so a mixed bag.

DS is 27 months.

We spent 2.5 days solidly in block 1, by which point DS was self initiating reasonably reliably. Moved to block 2, but had quite a few accidents so we kind of mixed blocks 1-3 for about a week. Block 1 at home when I couldn’t watch really closely, trousers for some time at home and for going out but we would have to watch pretty closely, keep an eye on time and intake of fluids and regularly prompt. We’ve been leaving house as usual since day 3/4.

We had some resistance to potty for a few days but no more than resistance to car seat/bedtime/brushing teeth etc.

We are now on day 12 since starting, he is reliably self initiating in block 2, with occasional reminders when busy/before leaving house etc. No more resistance to potty and no accidents in last 5/6 days so feeling pretty positive really. Will leave it another week until moving on to block 4 just to make sure he’s really got it.

Oh wow that’s amazing, thanks for sharing. Not sure if we’ll get there that soon but feel like it’s time at 28 / 29 months and before my 6MO gets moving and makes it harder. Definitely knows when it’s happening & when to poo but had reluctance to sit on it this morning for that so ended up next to it on the floor and a very cute so sorry but we just said we’re still learning so it’s ok

We’ve moved to block 2 today, been self sufficient all yesterday and just seems to go/ know when. Think today will bring some challenges to that as not quick to undress but can do it but also doesn’t seem to like being prompted but I’ll try and prompt with longer gaps and up liquids again.

will attempt time out tomorrow but I find it hard with a 6MO too, pre school Friday So hoping that might help as they’ll be encouraged to go together.
