DS has just turned three and I started trying to potty train him at about 2 years 11 months. At first, we seemed to make a small amount of progress. If I told him regularly to go to the potty he would wee on it bur never instigated going himself or verbalising the need for a wee or a poo.

Six weeks on and he’s still not saying he needs a wee. We have regular wet pants and he doesn’t seem bothered. He just poos his pants. So fair to say we’ve made no real progress.

I am becoming a bit concerned and a bit irritated by it all because I really thought that by three he would be ready for this.

I know Oh Crap is favoured on here but I don’t seem very good at it - if I sit on the sofa and watch him without pants on nothing happens for ages (apart from him getting bored) but then the second I move myself I come back to a wet floor or a poo.

Does anyone have any advice for where we go from here?
