3yo DD only wees on potty at nursery

Hello all, hopefully some experts here to help!!

our DD (just turned 3yo) is not progressing too well on potty training. When we first bought a potty and step a few months back, she would happily go and sit on it, i guess mostly for the novelty. We tried to encourage it and that went ok although rarely did she wee, mostly just sat there. She goes to nursery 5 days a week where they have a low toilet and we hear that it goes well there with weeing on the loo. At home she has in the last few weeks totally gone off even sitting on the potty. I don’t know how to help encourage - I thought maybe a sticker chart?

her older sister (5yo) has SEN which mean she is still in nappies. So I’m not sure if that’s making it harder, seeing her still in nappies and not having an ‘example’.

any tips well received. I know it might be harder to make progress at home with her being in nursery 5 days, and I’m not too fussed about it going slowly, but just wish it would go forwards not backwards.

Have you tried a seat on the toilet? If she's used to using a toilet at nursery it might be that the potty is too small or uncomfortable in comparison.

Hi @Whinge - sorry yes we do use a seat, I shouldn’t be calling it a potty! Will edit the post as indeed that’s confusing

Ah man, can't edit an OP it seems.

But yes to be clear - at nursery DD wees on a (mini) toilet, and at home we have a seat minimiser plus step for the adult toilet. Haven't used an actual potty at any point.
