Losing my mind over nappy regression

DD is about to turn 3, and has been potty trained since July (instigated by her, and apart from naps and overnight when she was in pull ups). She started to regress when she started nursery in September, and we eventually had to reluctantly concede and put her back in nappies when we went on holiday a couple of weeks ago (she was going everywhere, it was really difficult and we tried our hardest not to do this but both DH and I felt we had no choice). I've tried to get her back in pants this week, but it just isn't working - CONSTANT accidents, both wees and poos. So she's back in pull ups again.

If feels like she clearly isn't ready to be re-potty trained (she says she wants to be in nappies, although she hates having her bottom cleaned) but I'm so frustrated by the whole thing. For one, I feel like a total bloody failure about it, but mostly I'm just so frustrated that she'd cracked it, we'd moved on from that stage, and she seems stuck back in it now.

I've flagged it with the doctor this morning as someone suggested it was worth checking there wasn't a medical issue underlying it all (UTI maybe, or something digestive - she says her tummy hurts relatively frequently (not daily, but a couple of times a week)).

What else can I do? Has anyone had a similar experience? How long do you wait to try again? Do you just ditch the nappies and live with the constant accidents, or do you accept the return of nappies for a while?
