Is this normal for nursery?

Starting training DC3, she has been Interested for a good 6 months, she is now 2 and a half. Wee in potty straight away on first day and will go at home but mostly needs reminders. Wer're leas than a week in. She hasn't done a poo there yet but hates wearing nappies now.

Anyway, she is about to start nursery and they want her in nappies unless she is asking to go/taking herself off to the toilet.

I get that they don't have the stagf to deal with accidents all the time, but don't know how she'll train if she's in nappies for most of the week! Doesn't feel very supportive.

Is this the normal and do I need to suck it up?

how many days a week does she go to nursery? Ideally you want to get them largely trained over a period of a few days. So stay at home and remove the nappies entirely, get them comfortable with always going on the potty at home when naked bottom down and then the same with pants on. When they are at that stage they can then go to nursery in pants. They will deal with accidents at nursery of course but it isn’t their job to do the initial potty training job. I don’t work Fridays so I started potty training on a Friday, stayed in until the following Tuesday (I took the Monday off work and kept DC off nursery) and then by the Tuesday DC went into nursery nappy free - there were a few accidents but not many and nursery were happy enough with that.

When DS was at nursery, I informed them when I was going to begin potty training and they pretty much just followed my lead.

They were happy for me to drop him off in a nappy, for them to remove it and put pants on him once in nursery and they would then offer the potty regularly. Put a nappy back on him for the journey home and we took it off again once home.

I personally wouldn't say that expecting a toddler to wear a nappy whilst potty training is normal, based off my experience.
