Really struggling day 2 of potty training

Hi

my DS is 3 in November. I have done bits of attempting potty training but have now atyer consistent. So I thought I would really try and stick it out this time.

is this normal…. Day 2 and he has only done 2 wees on the potty and one poo on the toilet. He has either been pants or naked from the waist down. Have him a chocolate when he weed/pooed on toilet.

it just seems like he is not getting it at all with wees. Am I being harsh as has only been 2 days does it get better or should I stop and put a nappy back on him?

I also feel so stressed out as to how we could ever leave the house or go in the car. I bought a carry potty but I can’t ever imagine him sitting on that when he throws a massive tantrum and just says no when we try for a wee at home.

Honestly I found that when I started too early it was a nightmare. I gave up and put Dd back in nappies for 4 months.

When she was properly ready I didn’t even train her. Literally just put her in knickers and reminded her to use the loo and that was it! I didn’t use a potty - straight to the toilet with a kids seat on.

Definitely need to give him a chance as it's only been 2 days.

If you research it, it actually says it takes 3-6 months to complete potty training. Which after discussing with friends seems to be true.

We are 4 months in and he still wets himself sometimes. At the moment it's particularly bad (almost like training again) but I think that's due to jealousy of his baby sister.

following, on day 2 with my 3yo and have already lost the Will to live with it. My eldest was 2.5 and he just got it bar some poo fear when we potty trained him. My middle son has been horrendous so far. Solidarity!!
