DS is 18m. I got the potty out a few months ago as he was weeing on me every time I changed his nappy, so I got into the habit of popping him on during changes and he’s just sort of got the hang of it himself.
He will ask for the potty and will squeeze a wee out, sometimes a poo each time.
My question is, can I start doing full training now? I’m not sure he has the receptive language for me to explain about no more nappies and pants, and he will not always ask for the potty.
Or can I just keep it going with him ad hoc until he’ll understand more?
My eldest was potty trained at 24m so we’re not too far off that really.
