Toddler does 4 to 5 soiled nappies a day

Thinking about potty training but my toddler does at least 4 soiled nappies a day. Sometimes more. One reliably 30 minutes after breakfast, the others through out the day, often last one is before 6pm. Never over night.

I would like to try potty training, she is showing signs of being interested. Has a great vocabulary. But it's a lot for her and us to deal with. I'm imagining a day out with 4 toilet trips for number 2s.

Anyone else experience this? Do you think the number of times she go will get less? Would you wait a bit longer to see?

Thanks

You just go with the flow. My LO changed how often he did a poo once toilet trained. He likes to wait until the end of the day 😆

I would get one of those carry potties to take out with you and a foldable toilet seat which can go in a bag.

My DC1 was the same when in nappies but quickly changed to 1 per day during potty training, apparently that is very common.

How old is your daughter?

This is great to know. Sounds like it's no reason for us to wait.

She is 2.

We still need to work out some practicalities. We have an upstairs loo but we still need a stair gate. Obviously if she is using a potty we could have one downstairs (doesn't need to be in toilet room) but not sure where we would put it. Living room or kitchen/diner is our choice

Just have it where it is easily accessible. I would recommend getting a potty with a removable insert. We have two of the ikea ones (white and green). Makes it easier to empty (and an impromptu sick bowl)
